Tick Performance

Is your world Lagging? Find out what's causing the problem with this pack

Details

What's Included?
--------
Check for lag in your world with this tick performance add-on.
This pack checks how fast your world is actually running, not just your frames per second.
It is intended to be used to diagnose worlds and servers that have been performing slowly, to help determine what is causing the issue.

If your world is running correctly, it should be running at 20 ticks per second with 50 milliseconds per tick.

What does this pack show?
--------
On Minecraft Bedrock like in Java Edition, there are 20 ticks per second.
However, unlike Java edition, this is split into Odd-Ticks and Even-Ticks.

Redstone operations will only be performed every other tick.
This is not always the odd-ticks, sometimes it can be on the even-ticks.
This is to balance the game's speed and allow for optimized performance.

If you have a laggy redstone contraption, you'll notice the Odd-Ticks slow down but the Even-Ticks will increase beyond their normal speed to keep the game running at 20 ticks per second on average.

This pack shows multiple lines with information about your world.

Line 1: Redstone Ticks (Odd-Ticks)
- This shows you the ms/tick and ticks/s on the odd-ticks.
- Useful for seeing if your redstone contraptions are laggy

Line 2: Alternate Ticks (Even-Ticks)
- This shows you the ms/tick and ticks/s on the even-ticks.

Line 3: Average, Minimum and Maximum ticks per second over the last 4 seconds
- Gives you a better understanding of how many ticks per second are occurring on average

Line 4: Average, Minimum and Maximum milliseconds per tick over the last 4 seconds
- Gives you a better understanding of how fast each tick is taking to process on average

# Instructions
